Title of Course:
Introduction to Flow Cytometry
Optional or Mandatory:
This course is optional for doctoral researchers at the BSRT
booked/available seats:
8/10
Description:

Description:
Flow cytometry enables the high-throughput analysis of multiple parameters on a single cell level. Multiparametric flow cytometry allows for the discrimination of morphologically similar but functionally distinct cell populations, even of rare cell subsets, and is used for the analysis of immune responses, diagnosis and prognosis. This course will introduce the technology of flow cytometry and will give examples of the use of flow cytometry and cell sorting in clinical and biomedical research. The students will learn how to set up flow cytometric experiments for multi-color analysis and learn how to analyse the data. The students will also have the opportunity to discuss problems experienced already in the application and analysis of flow cytometry and cell sorting and are invited to bring own data.
