BSRT Graduate School

Funding for joint student research assistant

Answer:

Doctoral students of the BSRT are encouraged to set up collaborations with other doctoral students of the BSRT with the aim to develop joint research projects. The BSRT can offer funding for a joint student research assistant who can help the doctoral students in the lab.

An application not exceeding five pages with the detailed description of the planned joint research project and the reasons why a student research assistant is required has to be submitted to the BSRT coordination office. Please use the form provided for application for a joint student research assistant which can be accessed after login and can be found in the download area of the BSRT website. The funding of a joint student research assistant is granted depending on the quality of the proposed research and the justification for the necessity to have extra help in the lab. Funding for a student research assistant is available for up to six month. An extension for further six month can be granted for a successful renewal proposal of this joint research project. Funding for joint student research assistants can only be given if money is available in the BSRT budget.

The BSRT students, who received this funding, will have to give a presentation summarizing their research project. This presentation can be organised within their own research group, but it must be open to all members of the BSRT and must be announced through the BSRT coordination office at least three days in advance.

There will be four submission deadlines per year:

31 January  ⋅  30 April  ⋅  31 July  ⋅  31 October

Please submit:

  • The completed application form. It can be accessed after login and can be found in the download area.
  • The BSRT supervision agreement if it has not yet been submitted to the BSRT coordination office.
  • A copy of the "Zulassung zur Promotion" if it has not yet been submitted to the BSRT coordination office.
  • The minutes and progress report of the mentoring committee meeting if they have not yet been subitted to the BSRT coordination office.
